All software used by MOOAT are open source software.
Some have been written specifically for this projects, and others are used as complement.

LambdaMOO
LambdaMOO is one of the flavors of MOO (Multi-Users Object Oriented) servers and has originally been written by Pavel Curtis in 1991. The majority of the programming written in MOOAT is in MOO language (Object Oriented Programming).

Aloha Web Server
MOO based Web server written originally for KCCMO`O at Kapi`olani Community College. It is the core of the MOOAT system as it allows CGI processing, PHP-like scripting, and databases access.

Javascript
JavaScript is Netscape's cross-platform, object-oriented scripting language, used in many Web pages to enhance display, and data verification on the client side in some instances. Both of those aspects are used by MOOAT, specifically to produce HTML version of survey reports that needs graphical charts.

Java
Java is a robust object-oriented language whose one of the advantages is to be executed by most computer architectures. For java applets to be executed in browsers, a plug-in has to be installed on the client side. Those applets are used in MOOAT for graphical display of HTML reports when pies are requested to display the data.

Sendmail
Sendmail is a complex and stable Message Transfer Agent (MTA) that the MOO Server can trigger through FUP in order to notify people when the project requires this feature.
